Evans Njoro, Founder & CEO

Evans is an educator and social entrepreneur who believes in the boundless potential of young people in Africa to be entrepreneurial leaders. For over 20 years, his work in the private sector and with non-profits has strengthened his purpose to enable youth to successfully transition in life. He is a specialist in education programs which focus on entrepreneurship, leadership and employability. Previously, Evans served as the executive leader and advisor for various social enterprises in Kenya and Africa; including the Young Scientists Kenya, Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation, Save the Children International, Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya, Junior Achievement, among others, resulting in celebrated growth and impact. His career started as an administrator for Enterprise Advisory Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Kenya. Evans has also served as the Secretary General for Junior Chamber International Kenya, the Chairman of the Action Network for the Disabled and a board member for the Workforce Development Global Alliance Kenya. He is a certified accountant, has a Bachelors degree in Education, is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at The Wharton Academy, University of Pennsylvania and is a certified Entrepreneurial Leadership Educator from the African Leadership Academy, South Africa. Evans is a Metis Fellow, an Ashoka Visionary and a business mentor with Tony Elumelu Foundation.

Frank Njoro, Director of Programs

Frank is a specialist in developing and delivering leadership and teambuilding programs for student leaders in secondary schools. He has made lasting impact in the lives of high school students and leads the Programs Team in designing and conducting orientation sessions for corporate volunteers, educators and teachers. As an edupreneur, he founded Guide Star Kenya in 2000 and coordinated leadership and teamwork programs for student leaders at various schools, including Premier Academy, St Austin’s Academy, Loreto Convent and Starehe Boys. He also conducted team building excursions for cooperate teams including Junior Achievement, Standard Chartered Bank and St John Ambulance. Frank is a certified Level 4 teacher and has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with Psychology (2:1), The University of Buckingham, United Kingdom.

Apetsi Ivy Ameka, Program Manager

Ivy has more than six years of experience as a project manager, implementing education programs in entrepreneurship, leadership and Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in schools across Western Kenya. She is a mentor, educator and provides exposure to high school students from classroom learning to real-world STEM, coding, robotics and problem solving life skills to the next generation leaders. She served as a Programs Associate at InspireHER STEM Trust and the Amazing Grace Centre CBO in Vihiga County; and led in programs management, monitoring and evaluation, strategy, marketing, communications and resource mobilization. Ivy has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She has certificates in Certificate in Computer Applications, Realtime Analytics and Insights, and Data Science and Business Analytics. She is a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Fellow; and a mentor with Somo Africa.

Ruth Khanari Miheso, Project Assistant

Ruth is passionate about inspiring young people through education. She has three years of experience in community development. She combines her strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills to support our network of schools, enabling teachers and students to participate in our education programs. She coordinates the teachers’ communities of practice, coding clubs, learning activities, event logistics, monitoring, social media and awareness.
